Welcome
Dear Students, Families, Staff, and Visitors,
It is with heartfelt warmth and genuine excitement that I welcome you to LPW School.
LPW is more than just a place of education; it is a community rooted in compassion, where every young person is seen, heard, and deeply valued. As Deputy Headteacher, I am privileged to lead a team of dedicated and passionate individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that each learner is given the space and support to grow not only academically, but emotionally and socially too.
At the core of everything we do is our commitment to being a trauma-informed, emotionally available school. We understand that life experiences shape the way children engage with the world.
Our approach prioritises relationships, emotional safety, and trust. Every interaction is grounded in kindness and curiosity rather than judgement because we know that behaviour is a form of communication, and we strive to listen deeply.
We are a brave and compassionate school. Brave in our willingness to challenge convention, to hold space for difficult conversations, and to lead with authenticity. Compassionate in our belief that every child deserves a champion and that healing happens through connection.
LPW is proudly inclusive and collaborative. We believe that diversity enriches our learning environment, and that co-production with our learners, families, and community partners is not only powerful, but essential. Our school thrives on a culture of shared leadership where student voice, lived experience, and professional expertise come together to inform practice and shape progress.
Whether you are joining us for the first time or have been part of LPW’s journey for years, I invite you to walk alongside us as we continue to build a school where every child is not only safe but seen, supported, and celebrated.
Joe Radcliffe - Deputy Head

We are a small outstanding alternative learning provider based in the heart of Bristol, serving communities across the city. The majority of our students join us from mainstream settings where they were at risk of permanent exclusion. Our aim is to re-engage them with education and to support them to achieve positive outcomes and transition successfully into post 16 placements.
We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, stable and friendly environment that supports students to re-engage with education and build strong relationships with a supportive team of emotionally available and trusted staf
