Environmental responsibility

At LPW, we believe that education should prepare young people not only for their futures, but also for the future of our planet. Like all organisations, we have a responsibility to address climate change and take meaningful steps to reduce our impact on the environment.

Our Environmental Action programme brings staff, students and community partners together to embed a “green, lean and socially responsible” approach across the school. From reducing waste and energy use to creating opportunities for outdoor learning, sustainability is built into the way we work and learn.

We are proud to connect with local initiatives such as Uncle Paul’s Chilli Farm, giving our pupils hands-on experience of sustainable growing, food production and community enterprise. By engaging in projects like these, students see first-hand how small actions can add up to real change.

At LPW, sustainability is not an add-on it is a shared commitment to protect resources, support our community and build a greener tomorrow.

LPW students commit to:

  • Grow and care – plant, nurture and learn from projects like Uncle Paul’s Chilli Farm and our own school garden.

  • Reduce, reuse, recycle – cut down on waste, recycle properly, and give items a second life where possible.

  • Save energy – switch off lights, chargers and equipment when not in use.

  • Travel smart – walk, cycle, or use public transport whenever we can.

  • Respect resources – use water wisely and avoid single-use plastics.

  • Be advocates – share ideas and encourage others to make small changes that protect our planet.

Together, these pledges show how every small.
