PE and sports
At LPW, we believe that physical education is about more than just sport — it’s about building healthy habits, teamwork, resilience and confidence for life. Our PE programme encourages learners to lead active lifestyles, work collaboratively, and develop respect and tolerance through shared experiences.
Every week, pupils take part in structured sports sessions where they can choose activities that interest and engage them. From traditional team games to fitness-based activities, our aim is to provide something for everyone while promoting enjoyment and participation. One afternoon each week, all staff and students take part together in sport, reinforcing our community ethos and the importance of being active.
Our active wear uniform policy is central to our approach. By wearing comfortable, practical clothing every day, pupils are always ready to take part in physical activity — whether that’s a timetabled PE session, a spontaneous outdoor challenge, or a wellbeing activity. This removes barriers to participation, encourages a culture of movement, and reinforces our commitment to healthy lifestyles.
We see PE as a key part of personal growth and wellbeing. Through sport, pupils develop skills such as leadership, perseverance and cooperation. Physical activity also supports mental health, providing opportunities for stress relief, improved focus, and stronger social connections.
