Student wellbeing
At LPW, we know that students learn best when they feel safe, supported and valued. That’s why wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to create a school environment where every young person can flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
We provide:
Engagement Workers who build strong, positive relationships with pupils and families, helping to break down barriers to learning and attendance.
Pastoral care and supervision to help students manage the challenges of school life.
ELSA-trained staff (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) who provide targeted emotional support and strategies for students who need extra help.
A qualified Mental Health First Aider available to respond quickly and appropriately to mental health concerns.
PSHE sessions that explore wellbeing, resilience, relationships, online safety and healthy lifestyles.
Access to specialist services such as counselling, speech and language therapy, and mentoring.
Wellbeing programmes and activities that build confidence, self-esteem and positive relationships.
Safe spaces where pupils can take time out, reflect and reset if they are finding things difficult.
Community partnerships with organisations across Bristol who provide specialist wellbeing, health and enrichment opportunities.
Our approach is proactive and inclusive. We encourage students to speak openly about their feelings, involve parents and carers in planning support, and use trauma-informed practice to understand and respond to individual needs.
